Interconnecting machine readable data with multimedia assets and fragments has recently become a common practice. But specific retrieval techniques for the so called Semantic Multimedia data are still lacking. In MICO we target to close this gap.

In our demo we present a first prototype of SPARQL-MM, a function set that extends SPARQL to Media Fragment facilities by introducing spatio-temporal filter and aggregation functions. In this early version we illustrate these functions in action with queries targeting annotated videos from the extreme sports domain. The demo is built on top of Apache Marmotta and uses the Sesame API. Try out SPARQL-MM functions by selecting sample queries from the upper right.
